When to use quizzes
Testing yourself is itself a form of studying: research shows a quiz strengthens memory more than restudying the same material (the testing effect). Quizzes also break the “illusion of knowing” that flashcards can create, because answering in a new format is harder than recognizing a card. Take one after finishing a topic to check what actually stuck.Question types
- Single choice: pick the one correct answer.
- Multiple choice: several answers can be correct.
- True / false: decide whether a statement holds. Some false statements are intentionally close to the truth.
- Fill in the blank: type the missing term. AI evaluates meaning, so correct synonyms and paraphrases count.
