# Podcasts

> Studyflash turns your deck into an audio podcast so you can review while commuting, exercising, or relaxing.

Not all studying happens at a desk. Studyflash turns your deck's key concepts into a narrated podcast episode you can listen to on your commute, during a workout, or while making dinner.

## When to use podcasts

Podcasts turn dead time into extra exposure: every pass through the material in different words reinforces what you studied and deepens understanding. Use them for moments when active studying is impossible anyway, like commutes, workouts, or chores. They are a supplement, not a substitute: active recall with flashcards is still what makes knowledge stick.

## Generating and listening

Open your deck, select the **Podcast** tab, and click **Generate Podcast**. Generation takes a minute or two; you can navigate away and come back. Then hit **Play**.

Every episode comes with a synced transcript: read along, click any line to jump the audio there, or search it when you cannot use audio.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Podcast generation is a **Premium** feature with a monthly allowance. Upgrade from **Settings →
> Subscriptions**.

## Regenerating

Added new cards or want a different angle? Click **Regenerate Podcast** for a fresh episode. Regeneration counts against your monthly allowance.

On mobile, podcasts keep playing in the background when you lock your screen or switch apps.
