# Arcade

> Play Mountain Max: answer quiz questions from your deck or any topic while dodging obstacles in a 3D runner game.

The Arcade turns studying into a game. In **Mountain Max** you steer a running dog down a mountain and answer quiz questions by running through the gate with the correct answer, while jumping over logs and stones.

## When to play

Every gate is a recall attempt, so a run is retrieval practice disguised as a break. Play it when your motivation for another flashcard session is gone, or as a warm-up before a proper study session.

## Starting a game

* **On the web**: click the **Arcade** card in the sidebar.
* **In the app**: open the **+** create menu and choose **Mountain Max**.

Then pick where the questions come from:

* **Any topic**: type a topic and questions are generated in seconds.
* **Your deck**: pick one of your decks and questions are generated from its content. This uses one AI generation credit, but only once: the questions are saved and reused every time you replay.

## How to play

You run automatically in one of three lanes. The current question sits at the top of the screen, and each gate shows three answers, one per lane.

* **Steer** into the lane with the correct answer: arrow keys or **A**/**D** on the web, swipe left or right in the app.
* **Jump** over logs and stones: **Space** on the web, swipe up in the app.
* Running through the correct gate scores points. A wrong gate or a crashed obstacle costs one of your three lives.

Questions repeat in random order until your lives run out; then hit **Try again** and beat your score.
