# Record classes

> Record your class or lecture in Studyflash. AI transcribes the audio and generates flashcards, a summary, and a quiz automatically.

Recording lets you capture your teacher's words in real time without scrambling to take notes. Hit record when class begins, let it run in the background, and stop it when class ends. Studyflash transcribes the audio and automatically builds flashcards, a summary, and quiz questions from everything that was said. Recording works on the web and in the mobile app.

## Record a class

**1. Start recording**

Click **+ New**, choose the **Record** tab, and click **Start recording**. The first time, you
confirm a short checklist (you have permission to record and follow your school's rules) and
allow microphone access.

**2. Let it run**

Recording continues in the background as long as the tab stays open. You can switch tabs or take
notes elsewhere.

**3. Stop when class ends**

Click **Stop**. The audio uploads and Studyflash generates your transcript, flashcards, summary,
and quiz within a few minutes.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Do not close the browser tab while the upload is running, or the recording is lost. Wait for the
> success confirmation.

> [!TIP]
>
> Sit close to the speaker and record in a quiet spot for the best transcription. Earbuds with a mic
> help in large or noisy rooms.
